Chapter One (of five chapters) on National Geographic’s website provides an intimate look at a new superhighway linking its four major cities bringing the old and new India into jarring proximity. Much as the U.S. interstate highway system mobilized American society, India hopes the Golden Quadrilateral will push the country’s economic engine into overdrive.
